Tennis legend Serena Williams had nothing but glowing things to say about WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark and gave her some excellent advice in the process.
While speaking with Time this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, Williams gave Clark her flowers and some very good wisdom for how to deal with negative noise on the outside surrounding her WNBA debut.
There’s so much being made of Clark’s arrival to the big leagues, but Williams knows as well as anybody how much pressure the bright lights can apply for all-time talents.
She said she loved Clark’s approach to handling all the attention and told her how to process people being negative.
“I just love that she tries to stay grounded,” Williams said about Clark. “If people are negative, it’s because they can’t do what you do.”
