'Sent me to the shops' - Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale makes claim about Liverpool player

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has named the Liverpool player that once ‘sent him to the shops’.

The Reds have come up against Arsenal four times this season, twice in the Premier League and in two legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final. Across those four matches, Liverpool won 8-0 on aggregate.

Ramsdale was speaking in a ‘Never Have I Ever’ segment for Sky Sports, and the Gunners stopper was asked about the times he has been ‘rinsed’ by an opposition player. ‘Rinsed’ in this context means beaten badly or humiliated.

When giving his list, he named the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy, before talking about a Liverpool player. Ramsdale named Diogo Jota as the other player in his list.

When talking about Jota, Ramsdale simply said: “Jota, he sent me to the shops, didn’t he.” The goal the Gunners goalkeeper was referring to was the strike in the recent 2-0 win at the Emirate Stadium.

Liverpool ran out relatively comfortable winners earlier this month, but did endure a difficult start in the first half. After the interval, Jota opened the scoring for the Reds after he fired his effort low at Ramsdale’s near post which he could not keep out. Roberto Firmino scored the other goal in the game.

Jota also scored both goals in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final back in January. He was also on the scoresheet in the 4-0 victory in the Premier League win in November.
