A Senior Tory who accused Downing Street of trying to blackmail MPs who want to remove Boris Johnson is set to meet police over the claims.
William Wragg, who chairs the who chairs the Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, said he will be meeting a Scotland Yard detective in the House of Commons early next week.
It could lead to the police opening an investigation into whips' behaviour.
