Senegal: Police arrest two after death of 11 babies in fire

Senegalese officials have arrested two health workers from a neonatal unit where a fire killed 11 newborns last week.

The arrest happened on Sunday, according to private Senegalese radio station RFM.

The nurse and a nurse’s aide were on duty Wednesday night when the fire took place at the Abdoul Aziz Sy Dabakh Hospital in Tivaouane, a town 120 kilometres (75 miles) northeast of the capital, Dakar.
