- Her defection followed the resignation of Reform UK's leader in Wales , Dan Thomas, after his arrest on suspicion of assault and coercive behaviour.
- Mr Thomas, who was released without charge, stated he was stepping down for personal reasons but will continue as a member of the Senedd.
- Ms Cooper-Lesadd accused Reform UK centrally of having no interest in governing Wales and using its Senedd group merely to help get Mr Farage into Downing Street .
- She contrasted Reform UK's narrow and chaotic focus with Plaid Cymru's values-based approach.
