In an unexpected turn of events, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott is expected to endorse Republican frontrunner Donald Trump tonight in New Hampshire. This endorsement is seen as a significant boost for the Trump campaign and may be perceived as a setback for fellow South Carolinian and former Governor Nikki Haley.
Sources familiar with the plans have confirmed Senator Scott's upcoming endorsement, which is expected to take place shortly before the South Carolina primary. Despite dropping out of the presidential race earlier, Senator Scott has remained in contact with Trump's advisers regarding a potential endorsement.
