Senator Mullen expressed his view that Nikki Haley's assertion that Trump cannot beat Joe Biden without the 30 to 40 percent of Republican voters she attracts in many primary contests may not be realistic. He noted that while everyone has the right to run for office, it is essential to assess the viability of one's campaign. Senator Mullen highlighted that polls indicate Trump is slightly ahead of Biden, even in surveys that typically do not favor him.
