Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald L. Rowe, Jr. is scheduled to testify before three Senate committees next Tuesday regarding the attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. The hearing, titled 'Examination of the Security Failures Leading to the Assassination Attempt on Former President Trump,' will also include testimony from Deputy FBI Director Paul Abbate.
This joint hearing is set to take place between the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senate Homeland Security Committee, and the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee. The upcoming testimony follows a series of hearings on Capitol Hill this week that focused on the security breakdowns that preceded the shooting incident.
Earlier in the week, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle appeared before the House Oversight Committee to provide her testimony. However, she resigned the following day. FBI Director Christopher Wray also testified before House lawmakers on Wednesday as part of the ongoing investigations into the security lapses surrounding the attempted assassination.
