Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin recently expressed his intention to set aside personal issues with former Representative Matt Gaetz and give him a fair chance in consideration for the position of Attorney General, as chosen by President-elect Donald Trump.

Senator Mullin acknowledged the need to separate personal feelings from the evaluation process, stating, 'I've got to set my personal situation with Matt to the side and look at the facts. If he's qualified, he's qualified.'

Regarding the House Ethics Committee report on allegations against Gaetz, Senator Mullin emphasized the importance of transparency and access to information. He advocated for the Senate to have access to the report to inform their decision-making process.

While Mullin did not explicitly state whether the report should be made public, he highlighted the significance of the Senate having access to it. He suggested that the decision on public release could be part of negotiations within the Senate.

Senator Mullin's stance reflects a commitment to a thorough and impartial evaluation of Gaetz's qualifications for the role of Attorney General, despite any personal reservations he may have had.
