As of now, Trump has not submitted the necessary paperwork for the FBI to conduct these standard checks, which are customary for Cabinet nominations.
During an appearance on ABC's 'This Week,' Sen. Klobuchar stressed the need for qualified nominees and expressed concern that delaying background checks could impede the confirmation process. She stated, 'They've got to get their background checks together. They've got to get qualified nominees.'
