Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance remained undeterred in his debate preparations despite a power outage disrupting his session ahead of the upcoming debate with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic Party's running mate.
During the past month, Vance engaged in rigorous debate practice sessions known as 'murder boards' with his team. For those unfamiliar with the term, a murder board involves a group of individuals who pose challenging questions and engage in candid discussions to help the participant prepare for a demanding examination or test, such as a vice presidential debate.
As part of his preparation, Vance recently conducted a mock debate with Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota assuming the role of Walz, while former Trump administration Treasury Department assistant secretary Monica Crowley portrayed one of the moderators for the debate set to take place in New York City.
Despite facing a power outage halfway through the mock debate due to a severe storm in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Vance resides and the prep session was held, the senator and his team persevered. They improvised by using lanterns for lighting and cellphones for timing, showcasing their dedication to the preparation process.
