Selma Blair's ex-boyfriend 'strangled her' and 'called her a cripple' in alleged attack

Hollywood actress Selma Blair has been granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend after claiming he physically attacked her last month at her home in Los Angeles.

The Cruel Intentions actress, 49, alleges the incident occurred between herself and ex-boyfriend Ronald Carlson on Feb. 22 after they had recently ended their long-term relationship.

According to legal court documents obtained by TMZ, the star claims that her ex-boyfriend lunged at her, jumped on top of her and began to strangle her.

Carlson, 52, has denied the claims and has now filed a petition for his own restraining order against Selma.

He has reportedly insisted that he only reached for her out of 'defence'.

The actress claims the incident occurred at her home after her ex came by to drop off a TV set.

In the court documents, Selma, who lives with multiple sclerosis, alleges that Carlson 'strangled her, throttling her and shaking her head and shoulders aggressively'.

The actress had allegedly told her ex-boyfriend that she was feeling unwell and was heavily medicated at the time.

"Selma told him she had been medicated all day to treat her Multiple Sclerosis and was feeling ill," TMZ reported, adding that "she says he got frustrated and screamed at her: 'You f**k up, you can't do anything, you can't love anybody, you're f**king useless. You cripple."

She alleges that Carlson added: "I don't f**king deserve this, I can do so much better than you."

The legal documents also hear Selma's claims that she allegedly stuck her fingers into her ex-boyfriend's eyes and mouth - and he responded by 'covering her face and mouth with his hands'.

The Legally Blonde actress alleges at this point she lost consciousness as she was unable to breathe.

Police then arrived at Selma's home and interviewed the actress.

She claims her 'nose began to bleed heavily' and she lost consciousness again, according to the court documents.

The actress was then taken to a hospital to evaluate her condition, the report claims.

Denial

Carlson was arrested for felony domestic violence with corporal injuries and police obtained a five-day restraining order against Selma's ex following the attack, it has been alleged.

He has denied attacking the actress.

The 52-year-old claims Selma swung at him and struck him in his eye and attacked with both arms and scratched him on the nose, eyes and cheeks.

He has also alleged Selma had been suffering from a bleeding nose for several days before the incident and he had images sent to his phone as proof.

In response, Carlson has also filed a petition for a restraining order.

The actress chose to announce her diagnosis via Instagram as she captioned a photo: "I have #multiplesclerosis. I am in an exacerbation.

"By the grace of the lord, and will power and the understanding producers at Netflix, I have a job. A wonderful job.

"I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken GPS. But we are doing it."
