A caring Wishaw couple have been thanked by their loving family for all the love and support they have provided over the years.
Sandy and Liz Smith were nominated for our Say It With Flowers competition by their grateful daughter, Lynn.
Lynn told Lanarkshire Live : “My sister Heather and I were adopted as young kids.
"My mum and dad have always treated us the same as their two boys Colin and Kenny.
“They have worked hard all their life to provide a good life for the four of us.
“And when they were younger they went on to work with the charity Chernoble Children who brought kids from Chernoble to Scotland to help with their health.
“They also sponsored a family from there too.”
Before retiring Liz worked as a carer, while husband Sandy was a psychiatric nurse and went on to become a carer before he had to give it up due to his ill health.
Lynn told us: “My mum and dad are both now retired, but they are both very caring people and put everybody else before themselves.
“My mum has had kidney disease and was going through dialysis until she got a kidney transplant in November last year.
“And my dad has his own health problems and has been recently diagnosed with lymphoma and is going through chemotherapy just now.
“They also sadly lost my older brother Kenny in March last year.”
But despite overcoming their own challenges, the kind-hearted couple always make time for their extended family, including their 10 grandchildren and great grandchild.
And when Lynn told us about her amazing parents, we were only too pleased to help, and surprised them with a stunning floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
Lynn said: “I just wanted them to know how grateful I am and how much I love them.”
