Selfless Renfrewshire kids raise charity cash after toy sale drive

Kind-hearted primary and nursery children donated over £400 to two Renfrewshire charities.

Primary four pupils and the nursery kids at Ralston Primary School organised a toy sale to raise money for local charities.

Following a vote, pupils decided the money would be donated to Mary’s Meals and the Renfrewshire Foodbank.

Pupils designed posters and displayed them around the school asking for old toys to be donated to the cause – which was a massive success. A fantastic grand total of £458 was raised.

Primary four pupils carried out research and learned it costs Mary’s Meals £19.15 to feed one child for a school year so they decided to use £191.50 from the money raised to feed 10 children and donated the remaining £266.50 to Renfrewshire Foodbank.
