A Motherwell woman has been thanked for her friendship and charity work over the years.
Debbie Baird nominated her friend Martine McGuire for our weekly Say it with Flowers competition having been friends for nearly 40 years.
Debbie said: “We first met when I was 17 and I’m 55 now so that’s a long time.
“She is the most special, selfless person who puts everyone’s needs before herself. She is a wife, mother and granny who is such an inspiration to others.
“She has survived bowel cancer and is involved in fundraising for his charity on a yearly basis.
“This year alone, she has completed the Kiltwalk for charity and the Walk of Hope for raising funds for Chris’s House.
“Over the years she has befriended youngsters and has hugely supported every member of her family and her friends.”
When Debbie told us all about Martine and her story, we were only too pleased to help out.
And we surprised Martine at her home in Ravenscraig with this stunning floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
Debbie, who also lives in Motherwell added: “I just think she deserves some recognition for everything she has done.
“When I said to my daughter I was going to nominate her auntie Martine she thought it was a great idea.
“She has been through so much herself but always puts herself but any other person.
“It’s a simple gesture but I’m sure she will appreciate it.”
If you would like to nominate a special someone for our Say it with Flowers competition then it couldn’t be simpler.
