Select your Leeds United XI for Crystal Palace trip as Jesse Marsch faces two big selection dilemmas

Jesse Marsch has a number of big selection dilemmas on his hands when Leeds United make the trip to Crystal Palace on Monday. The Whites have had a 16-day break between Premier League fixtures which will have enabled them to recover and recharge ahead of a potentially nail-biting run in.

The first of Marsch’s big decisions comes in midfield, where he will be toying with the idea of handing Kalvin Phillips his first start since December. Phillips has come off the bench in each of the last two matches, and for many starting him is a no brainer, though only Marsch will know whether he is fit enough for 90 minutes now.

With Adam Forshaw out for the rest of the season, Phillips’ midfield partner is likely to be one of Mateusz Klich or Robin Koch. If Marsch opts to go with the former, then he may look to move Koch into his more familiar role at centre back, where he will be competing for a place on the right side with Diego Llorente and Charlie Cresswell.

Marsch’s next big decision comes up front, where he has as many as three different options to choose from alongside Rodrigo Moreno. Daniel James has been the preferred selection for much of the season, but Joe Gelhardt comes into the game on the back of two weeks of consistent training, meaning he could get his chance.

Sam Greenwood is another alternative for the American, who was excellent off the bench in the win over Watford. Elsewhere, the team pretty much picks itself barring no late injury concerns.
