'See you soon!' - Youri Tielemans to Arsenal transfer theory amid Brendan Rodgers decision

Youri Tielemans starts for Leicester City in their first game of the new Premier League season against Brentford, although some Arsenal fans think it will be for the final time.

The Belgium international is a target for the Gunners as summer transfer deadline day fast approaches and whilst personal terms have reportedly been agreed with the midfielder, a bid is yet to be submitted and Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he is hopeful of a speedy resolution:

"There is that possibility [Tielemans could leave] but there has not been anything for him, we haven’t had any approaches to the club yet on that," he told reporters. "Of course it is in the back of the mind, that sort of what-if scenario, but he doesn’t want anything to drag on either."

It remains to be seen if Arsenal do indeed firm up their interest in Tielemans before September 1, but whilst he remains under contract at the King Power Stadium, it would appear that he will be part of Rodgers' plans as proven by the starting line-up to face Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

However, some Gunners supporters have an interesting theory that it will be the 25-year-old's farewell appearance. For example, @mariEscobar on Twitter suggested the fixture is nothing but a 'Tielemans testimonial', whilst @ddalchok predicted it's 'Tielemans' final match'.

Meanwhile, @RedWhite_Gooner said: "See you soon Youri", @DanniRobbers echoed similar thoughts: "Last game for Tielemans?" and @AfcHeritagee appeared very confident by saying: "Arsenal's next signing Youri Tielemans starts for Leicester City today in what may look like his last game for the Foxes."

If these Arsenal fans are proven right and this does turn out to be Tielemans' final game in a Leicester shirt, ironically his Gunners debut could come against the Foxes next weekend with Rodgers' side the visitors to the Emirates Stadium in the north London outfit's first home fixture of the new season.

Despite overseeing plenty of business already with the signings of Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said his side are far from done in the transfer window: "We are really active as you can see with ins and outs," he told reporters ahead of the Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.

"Everything is still open, it’s a long window. A lot has happened. It's incredible how much business the club has already done across the Premier League and it shows how competitive this is. It’s not going to stop that. Players are going to have to leave, some others to move and everything is open still."

Furthermore, in a potential boost for the Gunners, Lucas Torreira's seemingly imminent move to Galatasaray is great news as it frees up a non-homegrown spot for Arsenal which will be very important when it comes to confirming their 25-man Premier League squad after the summer transfer window closes.
