'See you at Anfield!' - Jamie Carragher sets Liverpool challenge for Gary Neville after x-rated exchange

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher couldn't resist another dig at Sky Sports partner and former Manchester United rival Gary Neville.

The pair are consistently looking to get the better of each other, as they did during their careers in the Premier League, and have since burst onto television screens as part of the broadcaster's coverage of the English top flight.

Both Carragher and Neville recently embarked on a journey around the United Kingdom as part of the former United full-back's The Overlap series. They were joined by a host of guests, including Roy Keane who embarked on the journey with the duo, as they visited different cities across the region including the hometowns of the Liverpudlian, Mancunian and Irishman.

As part of the series they were set a number of tasks as each trip was documented. In one segment, they embarked on Hackney Marsh playing fields as Keane, Neville and Carragher - with the help of former Premier League referee Mike Dean - were tasked with officiating a Sunday League fixture.

It was the outspoken midfielder who was tasked with going in the middle first with the Liverpool legend and Neville on opposite sides as linesmen. The latter was seemingly enjoying it more as he was vocal throughout and said: "I'd f****** love to be a linesman."

Carragher noted the love-hate relationship that the Sky Sports commentator has with Liverpool fans and quickly batted back: "I'd love to see you at Anfield with that crowd behind you."

The ongoing battle between the two rivals didn't stop there when the former Valencia manager moved to the role of referee. As a pass was played over the top, Neville, in constant dialogue with his assistants, says: "Now (he's offside)."

But the Liverpool icon wasn't impressed, he argued: "You're the referee, shut up," but the makeshift referee quickly interjected: "You're supposed to do it now."

"I'm the linesman, not you," Carragher replied.

True to his Sky Sports commentary role, Neville discussed the action as it unfolded in the capital as the play was switched prompting the ex-Reds defender to add: "You're a referee, Gary, not a commentator.

And there was room for one more squabble between the pair as a lack of communication ensued between the 48-year-old and Carragher.

"He's onside," said the Liverpudlian but his assistance almost prompted the wrong call from Neville who thought he suggested it was in fact offside.

"I'll put the flag up if he was f***** offside," Carragher said to which the Overlap host said: "It's your f****** accent."
