ABERDEEN and Aberdeenshire have been named the best places to live in the UK in new research carried out by HomeViews.
Edinburgh was also featured on the list, surpassing popular areas across the country like Greater Manchester and Essex.
To create the list, the platform gathered more than 6000 reviews from residents living in new property developments across Britain.
They asked them about every aspect of their home, including its location, between the summers of 2022 and 2023.

Aberdeen and the wider Aberdeenshire area were named the best places to live in the UK with the former being praised as a "vibrant" city with a rich history of shipbuilding and textiles.
Aberdeenshire, which surrounds Scotland's third-largest city, was said to combine coastal landscapes with the "spectacular" hills and mountains of the Cairngorms.
The two areas had a combined average rating of 4.9/5 and an average home asking price of £211,205.
The average rent paid by those living here was found to be £1028 per calendar month, according to HomeViews.
Edinburgh was named the sixth best place to live and was commended for being one of the "culturally and politically most significant cities in the UK."
The Scottish city was said to contain a "wealth" of historic buildings and dramatic landscapes as well as a thriving arts scene.
The city had an average rating of 4.6/5 with the average asking price for a home being around £328,956.
The average rent paid by residents was found to be higher than the Granite City at around £1,568 per calendar month.
