DESPITE Scotland being home to hundreds of iconic landmarks with each attracting visitors from far and wide, some tourists have been left less than impressed for ridiculous reasons.
Some visitors have taken to popular travel websites like Tripadvisor to share their disgruntlements in some of the most ridiculous one-star reviews around.
Whether it's visitors complaining about the steepness of Ben Nevis or the lack of Nessie sightings at Loch Ness, there are plenty of funny reviews to read.

Here are some of the most ridiculous one-star reviews for Scottish landmarks and attractions left behind by tourists on Tripadvisor.
Ben Nevis
No list would be complete without mentioning some of the one-star reviews for Scotland's tallest mountain, Ben Nevis.
The popular site, which has a 4.5 rating out of 2582 reviews on Tripadvisor, attracted criticism for being "too steep".
One reviewer said: "Very steep & uneven pathways that could be doing with some work, no toilet nor shops from bottom to top I was very hungry & parched. When we arrived at the summit it was covered in snow, won’t be long till someone has an accident."
Another visitor said of the climb: "The walk was boring and un imaginative, lacked 4G signal in many places and when you got to the top you couldn't see anything. Basically this mountain summed up Scotland as a whole! A big disappointment! Also there is snow at the top... I don't like a snow."
Loch Ness
Many reviewers were left disappointed by the lack of Nessie viewings at Loch Ness with one visitor, who boasts over 700 contributions, writing: "High expectations, but no Nessie today. The lake is wonderful but when you come for the monster, don’t travel there since it will not show up."
Another complained about the abundance of shrubs and bushes spoiling their view, saying: "We have rented a car and thought a drive a long the Loch would be super romantic. Wrong. They have huge hedges, trees and plants blocking the view. Quiet a disappointment."
Glenfinnan Viaduct
Known for its role in the Harry Potter films, the Glenfinnan Viaduct is popular with Potterheads and other tourists globally.
However, the scenic attraction hasn't lived up to everyone's expectations with one visitor complaining about the ban on drone use in the area.
The tourist wrote: "Travelled a long way to photograph the viaduct only to be told in the car park by Old Joe that drones are banned..... Yep banned.
"The land owner has banned the use of drones due to the noise by his house when he is trying to watch Emmerdale. I didn't know you could ban the use of airspace."
One Harry Potter fan accused the site of being "very deceiving", saying: "From the postcards and Harry Potter it seemed so much larger and majestic. This was our great deception in our entire trip to Scotland."
