Security is to be increased in Oldham ahead of Drag Queen story hour events for children. It follows on from recent scenes in Bolton, where a group of demonstrators stormed the town hall in protest of the sell out show.
It is understood additional measures will be now be introduced, including more security staff, to manage the upcoming performances at Oldham Library, which sees Drag Queens perform for families and read out stories to young children.
The event had also been cancelled at Rochdale earlier this month due to the previous protests. However, Oldham Council is set to welcome the event back to the library later this year, in October.
