The D.C. Police Department issued a traffic notice for Harris' election night party at Howard University, warning of street closures, no parking zones, and transit detours.
The U.S. Secret Service is collaborating with federal, state, and local partners to ensure safety in Washington, D.C., and Palm Beach County, Florida on Election Day. Fencing and other safety measures will be installed around key locations like the Naval Observatory, White House, and Palm Beach County Convention Center as part of broader public safety preparations.
Despite no current threats to the U.S. capital city, precautions are being taken in case election results lead to unrest. D.C. resident Lucas Argeles expressed understanding for the security measures, hoping they are merely precautionary and that no incidents occur.
