Security guard of plywood factory dies by suicide over beating in Haryana's Yamunanagar, five booked

YAMUNANAGAR: A security guard of a plywood factory in Haryana's Yamunanagar ended his life by consuming poisonous substance, allegedly after being beaten by factory owner and some workers of the unit.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Kumar.

On the complaint of Vikram of Parwalo village in Yamunanagar district, a case was registered against five persons including Vicky, Shaukeen, Sunny, Rimpy and Parwinder Luthra under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Buria police station on Friday.

Vikram said that his elder brother Pramod Kumar worked as security guard in a plywood factory of Yamunanagar.

“My brother had made a video of Vicky, Shaukeen, Sunny and Rimpy drinking liquor in the factory during his night duty on September 26. Angered by this, Sunny accused his brother of stealing his wallet, the next day. Following this issue, my brother was called to the factory at 5 pm on September 28 and was beaten there,” alleged Vikram.

The complainant said this beating disturbed his brother mentally, due to which, he ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance.

"We took Pramod to two private hospitals, but later he was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh but he died on the way," said Vikram.
