Section of major motorway to close for final phase of resurfacing work

PART of a busy motorway in East Renfrewshire is set for closure at the end of the month.

Overnight resurfacing works will be carried out on the motorway's southbound carriageway at Junction 4 (Newton Mearns) and the B7087 merge from Tuesday, January 28 until Friday, January 20, 2025, between 8pm and 6am each night.

Amey, who will undertake the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, said the major road will be shut at this location during the works.

A diversion is in place to lead drivers to the B7087, Crookfur Road and to the A77 where they can re-join the motorway.

This follows work to the northbound carriageway which will be undertaken from Monday, January 13 until Monday, January 20, 2025.

Access to emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

These works will be the final phase of a resurfacing scheme which commenced in November 2024.
