Following President Donald Trump's executive orders, newly sworn-in Secretary of State Marco Rubio has directed the Department of State to cease refugee resettlement operations and increase vetting of visas from certain regions.

Rubio's decision comes in response to Trump's orders aimed at realigning the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and enhancing national security measures against potential threats.
