Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to travel to Europe for crucial meetings on Ukraine with NATO and European Union officials in the wake of the recent U.S. presidential election and the upcoming return of Donald Trump to the White House in January.
The State Department has scheduled discussions in Brussels on Wednesday to explore ways to enhance support for Ukraine, particularly in light of President-elect Trump's indications that U.S. military aid to the country, which is currently battling against Russia's invasion, could be significantly reduced once he assumes office.
Following his brief stay in Brussels, Blinken will then proceed to Peru and Brazil to participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum and a summit involving leaders from the Group of 20 major economies, alongside outgoing President Joe Biden.
