Fans of fronds rejoice - there’s a new secret tiki bar in town.
Miami Tiki has just opened at Hatch, tucked away in one of its shipping containers above its sister spot Miami Ice, the 80s-style disco bar.
Decked out in full tiki decor, the bar features the customary bamboo hut pitched in the centre, and a full menu of tropical cocktails.
The M.E.N got a sneak peak at the new venue this week, and got to sample the range of cocktails on offer. Among the drinks on offer are your classic Mai Tai and Pina Coladas, alongside the mescal-heavy Paloma.
The bar even has a hidden-away terrace for the summer months, and any of the food from the other traders in Hatch can be brought in to eat.
The opening is among a raft of changes to the market, which is situated right underneath the Mancunian Way.
Sicilian street food folks T’arricrii are moving to bigger premises to keep up with demand.
Parmogeddon is also moving its Teesside treats to a bigger unit - the ‘parmo’ being a fried chicken sandwich loaded with bechamel sauce and cheese, while nail art bar It’s A Nail Thing is moving to a new, larger indoor spot.
The venue is also launching a new post-work offer too. The After Office Hours session runs from 4pm to 7pm every Friday.
Groups of five who book via the Hatch bookings system, and arriving between 4pm and 5.30pm, will get themselves a free pint or a glass of wine.
