During a recent rally in Pennsylvania, a gunman managed to shoot at former President Trump, raising concerns about security measures in place. Local police reportedly informed the U.S. Secret Service that they lacked the manpower to monitor a nearby building, which was eventually used by the gunman to carry out the attack.
According to reports from the Washington Post, the Secret Service was made aware that local police were unable to assist with securing the building owned by Agr International, situated just outside the rally perimeter and approximately 150 yards from where Trump was speaking. The rooftop of this building provided the gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, with a clear line of sight to Trump.
An investigation is now underway to determine how the U.S. Secret Service failed to prevent the gunman from accessing the rooftop and targeting the former President. The incident has sparked discussions about the coordination between federal and local law enforcement agencies during high-profile events.
