During a recent press conference, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle addressed concerns regarding the handling of a recent rally where an assassination attempt took place. The incident in question involved Thomas Matthew Crooks climbing onto the roof moments before the shooting occurred.
Cheatle mentioned that they are currently reviewing communications from that day with law enforcement on the ground. She stated that had they been aware of an actual threat, the Secret Service would have halted the rally. However, she admitted that she does not have all the details of the communications that transpired during the event.
