This update was disclosed by agency director Kimberly Cheatle during her testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Monday, where she discussed the recent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.
According to Cheatle, the security modifications for Vice President Harris were implemented in response to Biden's announcement of not seeking re-election. She further mentioned that ongoing security assessments have been adapted for other protectees and secured locations in Washington, DC, particularly in light of the recent shooting incident that occurred last Saturday. Additionally, extra security reviews were conducted in preparation for the Republican National Convention held last week.
