Taylor Frankie Paul, the queen of MomTok drama, has kicked off a major tiff with her Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast mates over… wait for it… Instagram comments. Oh this is the type of drama I live for!!
It all started when Taylor called out her Mormon Wives co-stars for not commenting on her Country Music Awards appearance.
Taylor took to Instagram to call out her cast mates for what she perceived as a lack of support. And let me tell you, the receipts are coming in hot.
Jessi Ngatikaura was first to clap back, sharing a screenshot of her response to Taylor. “Tay I literally posted you on my story. Are you for real? Also reposted your CMA TikTok and texted you the whole day you were there to support you. This is such a weird thing to post instead of coming to us first,” she wrote.
She then went full receipt mode in the comments, listing her support: “Repost the CMA’s TikTok of you ✔️. Post you on my story ✔️. Text you all day to congratulate and hype you up ✔️. Like this post ✔️. Free clip ins for filming and events like this ✔️. Free hair for your mom ✔️.”
Demi Engemann wasn’t sitting this one out either. Her Instagram Stories were loaded with some seriously not-so subtle quotes: “Projection is so funny when you’re self aware cause people really can’t see outside of their own perspective and experiences. Like honey nothing you said has shit to do with me. Sounds like this is actually about you.”
Demi posted another quote, which read, “Being called sensitive for reacting to disrespect is manipulation at its finest.” The girls are well and truly fighting.
Meanwhile, Mikayla Matthews and Mayci Neeley took a lighthearted approach by posting a TikTok where they admitted they see or comment on Taylor’s post either.
Mikayla also made sure to really make her position clear on the situation by sharing Taylor’s CMA post on her story with the caption: “Wow. What a woman. I strive to be her. So incredible. She deserves the title of leader of MomTok. @TaylorFrankiePaul please don’t kick me out. So proud of you.”
Mayci also commented on Taylor’s post, “The love of my life.” We love a damage control moment.
In all seriousness, it doesn’t seem like there was any malicious intent with the lack of commenting, but Taylor doubled down on calling her cast mates out. She later clarified her feelings in another series of Instagram Stories. “Just as WHOLE made me feel off,” she explained, adding that she felt it was odd that none of her friends had acknowledged her achievement publicly.
“I guess I ruffled some feathers, a little too much,” she said. “I have a lot of supportive girls in this group… I just felt off by it, so I made a petty post, and are we shocked?” We love a diva who knows who she is I guess?
Taylor also pointed out some hypocrisy in Demi’s reaction, recalling a recent phone call where Demi expressed feeling unsupported herself.
“Since Demi is the most triggered by it, it’s interesting because she phone called me the other day saying, ‘I feel like you don’t really support me on social media.’ So it’s weird that it matters when it comes to her, but when it comes to me, it shouldn’t be a big deal, and they don’t have to bow down to me,” Taylor said in her story.
“Sure you don’t have to like my stuff. That’s fine. Again, nowadays, it’s your message without saying a message, and we can, I think, all agree. For all the girls telling me I should have handled this differently and offline as they’re literally eating me alive online right now, maybe they feel justified but don’t come at me if you’re going to do the exact same thing,” she continued.
Since Taylor’s response, Demi has been spotted dropping comments about her feelings towards Taylor on multiple different videos across TikTok.
On a post praising Taylor for the receipts and drama she brings to the table, Demi commented, “Taylor will tell you ‘half’ truths and then use her platform that she’s built on manipulating her viewers to turn on people who aren’t nasty and loud.”
All of this drama is going down while the cast is on their holiday break during filming of the Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives season two. Notably, there has not been any response on the situation from cast members Whitney Leavitt or Jen Affleck. But, surely they’ll be dealing with this in the new season and I cannot wait to see all the juice unfold!!!
Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives will be premiering on January 28 in Australia and will stream on Disney+.
