Amazon Prime is shooting up in price this month - but thankfully there's a neat little trick which will not only help you swerve this increase but also get cheaper access to the service.
Soon the price of a monthly UK Amazon Prime subscription inflates from £7.99 to £8.99, with the yearly cost going from £79 to £95.
To avoid this unwelcome extra expense, you just need to plump for a yearly subscription before September 15 , which will lock in the current price of membership for the next 12 months.
But there's another way you can make a big saving - and that's through the little-known Amazon Household feature, which lets you share your Amazon Prime membership with another adult in your household.
'Cancel one and piggyback off the other'
If you and another member of your house both pay for Amazon Prime it's time to cancel one of them and piggyback off the other - it really is that easy.
Under the impending new pricing structure, if two people in your household had been paying for Prime this could help your household save up to £95 a year.
Once set up - and it's really easy to do, don't worry - the person you share your Amazon Prime account with can now get access to superfast Prime delivery, as well as enjoy its Prime Video service plus a whole heap of other benefits.
You may not be familiar with it, but Amazon Household is actually very useful, allowing you to not only share digital content but also manage your children's viewing habits.
Sounds great - what do I actually need to do?
To get started, simply head to Amazon Household and then create a household.
You can then add an adult account or children's account to your household and begin sharing content.
This neat little trick will be a real boon for many across the country aiming to save cash.
In July, Amazon said the price of its Prime service would be rising on September 15 due to 'increased inflation and operating costs'.
Cash-strapped subscribers were faced with either axing their subscription or stumping up the extra cash. This was the first price rise of its kind in years, with you having to go all the way back to 2014 for the last such Prime hike.
*Amazon Prime offers one day Prime delivery, access to the Prime Day sales (one of the biggest sales of the year alongside the world famous Black Friday event), access to Prime Video - home of the new Lord of the Rings show The Rings of Power - as well as Prime Reading, Prime Music and Prime Gaming access.
