The Cleveland Browns continue to have to make tough decisions. The first hard cut came as the Browns waived preseason standout wide receiver Austin Watkins Jr. A second hard decision has just hit the pipeline as well, as the team has waived 2022 NFL draft seventh round pick and defensive end Isaiah Thomas.
Despite a memorable sack of Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow on the Halloween Thursday Night win a year ago, Thomas has been sidelined all camp after suffering a knee injury in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. There is a ton to like about the game of the Oklahoma big man, but after overhauling their defensive line, there had to be cuts made elsewhere.
While the timeline of his injury is unclear, Thomas is a firm candidate to land on the practice squad if he manages to clear waivers. He remains a name to keep an eye on.
