The Boston Celtics have transformed themselves into one of the scariest teams in the NBA since the new year, having managed one of the more impressive turnarounds in the middle of a season as can be remembered in recent league history after starting the 2021-22 campaign 17 – 19.
Much of that has been built on the strengths of the team’s top-ranked defense and clarified roles for the players, but some of what’s been helping to bury opponents offensively has been the help they have been getting off of the bench, particularly from second-year guard Payton Pritchard. The Oregon product has shot a sizzling 46.3% from beyond the arc on 4.1 attempts per game over the Celtics’ last 10 games, putting up 8.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists over just 16.8 minutes per game.
Pritchard could prove to be a key part of Boston’s postseason rotation if he can keep up this level of contribution, a point discussed at length in a recent clip put out by the folks at NESN.
Check out the clip embedded above to hear what NESN’s George Balekji has to say about Fast PP in the looming 2022 NBA Playoffs.
