Derek McInnes has revealed Tuur Rommens is back running but not yet in full Rangers training.
The defender is set to miss the match against St Mirren on Wednesday and the Premier Sports Cup tie against Celtic on Sunday.
However, he is expected to be back in training next week with his Rangers team-mates.
"Tuur Rommens is back on the pitch running but not back with the squad," he said in his press conference on Tuesday.
"Hopefully, he will be back training with the squad after the game on Sunday."
McInnes also confirmed the significant injury blow for Lawrence Shankland, who is expected to miss between three and four months through a hamstring tear.
The Rangers boss said: “We've had confirmation he has had a grade 2c tear in his hamstring, very similar to the one he did at Hearts in January. He is now getting a follow-up scan with a specialist in London to determine if he has surgery or allows it to heal naturally.
“If he has the surgery it may be three or four weeks less, but maybe that increases the risk again.”
In another injury blow, Daisuke Yokota will miss the match against St Mirren with a groin problem.
McInnes confirmed: "Daisuke Yokota has picked up a groin injury, which he will miss tomorrow night's game."
