Two men charged over the alleged murder of Levi Johnson in a stabbing attack outside a Brisbane gym this week will fight the charges, their lawyers say.
Mr Johnson was allegedly stabbed to death after his car was cut off in the driveway of a Mansfield gym on Monday.
Four men allegedly smashed their way into the 23-year-old's car with a crowbar before two of them chased him across the road, where he was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the chest. He died at the scene.
Stuart Galloway was allegedly part of the group and arrested by police close to the scene on Monday afternoon and was initially charged with weapons offences.
The 34-year-old from East Brisbane was further charged with one count of murder last night, and his matter was mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates court this morning.
Mr Galloway did not appear and the case was adjourned until next month but outside court his lawyer said his client would be fighting the charges.
Luke Thomas Moore, 34, was also charged with the murder this morning after his arrest at Birkdale, east of Brisbane, yesterday.
He also had his matter heard today, where his lawyer Michael Gatenby asked the magistrate to adjourn the case until next month.
Outside court, Mr Gatenby said his client was "quite concerned" about the charge and would be contesting it.
He also planned to make a bid for Supreme Court bail.
"The difficulty we have at the moment is that the police have failed to identify what act or omission he's done," he said.
"We'll need to get some further particulars, but at the moment you wouldn't have any idea what it is my client is alleged to have done."
Mr Galloway's lawyer Andrew Owens said the arrest had been "pretty overwhelming" for his client.
"Obviously, given the nature of the charges and allegations … We'll have to take it step by step," he said.
Mr Owens said his client would also be defending the charges.
"Yes certainly we'll be contesting them, we'll have to get a brief at the next mention and then take it from there," he said.
Police still want to question Thomas Myler, 35, and Kyle Martin, 24 over the incident, and say they are potentially armed and dangerous.
Brisbane regional crime coordinator Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said yesterday they were still believed to be in the Capalaba, Birkdale or Ransome areas.
"We make an appeal to them to hand themselves in to the nearest police station," Detective Superintendent Massingham said.
Police are seeking a white Nissan Patrol with Queensland registration 984 SCH, which they say is linked to the stabbing.
