Second man charged with murder over fatal Brisbane shooting

A second man has been charged with murder in relation to a fatal shooting in Brisbane's south-west last week.

Timothy Van Vo, 38, was allegedly shot in the chest at close range outside a house in Oxley in the early hours of Tuesday, October 4.

The alleged attack involved a group of people armed with multiple firearms.

Andrew Van Mason, 26, was taken into custody on Thursday and has now been charged with murder.

He was also charged with the unlawful use of a motor vehicle for allegedly using a car belonging to another man without his consent, in facilitating the murder.

Mr Van Mason had his matter mentioned in court this morning and was remanded in custody.

Five others were arrested at the house in Mackenzie, where police allege a methamphetamine lab was found.

A 30-year-old man from East Brisbane was charged with murder after he was intercepted in a vehicle in Ipswich on Friday.

A 26-year-old woman arrested in the CBD on the day of the shooting is still in custody on unrelated charges.

Police said they were still looking for two people in relation to the killing.

The charred remains of an Audi A3 sedan, which police said was linked to the killing was discovered at a fire at a unit complex in Dutton Park last Wednesday.

The fire destroyed six other vehicles.
