A second straight lay day has been called for the World Surf League event in El Salvador, but conditions look more promising in the coming days.
The first two days of the event window were called off due to small swell, with organisers buoyed by the forecast over the next few days.
Competition will take place at the famed right-hand point break known as Punta Roca, also referred to as La Punta or Punta Chilama.
It's the first time a Championship Tour event has been held in El Salvador.
"As expected, we've got small surf on offer again here at Punta Roca," WSL head of competition Jessi Miley-Dyer said.
"We will be calling the competition off for today, but we do have swell on the way and are looking forward to the next few days with how promising the forecast looks."
Two-time world champion Tyler Wright was forced to pull out of the event due to complications from COVID-19.
Eleven-time world champion Kelly Slater also withdrew due to a mystery injury, while John John Florence is out with a knee injury.
When competition gets underway, Australian Jack Robinson will be aiming to snare his third tour event win on the trot after coming up trumps at the Margaret River Pro in WA and G-Land in Indonesia.
Those two event wins have catapulted Robinson to second in the world rankings, giving him an excellent chance to finish in the top five and qualify for the season-ending finals.
He will take on Samuel Pupo and Joshua Burke in the opening round at the El Salvador Pro.
Fellow Australian Callum Robson faces a tough first-up challenge against Gabriel Medina and Jadson Andre.
In the women's draw, seven-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore will be up against fellow Australian Sally Fitzgibbons and France's Johanne Defay in round one.
The only other Australian in the women's draw - Isabella Nichols - is up against Brisa Hennessy and Caroline Marks.
Only the top-ranked women surfer from each round-one heat progresses straight through to the quarter-finals, with the other two surfers relegated to the elimination round.
