Second gentleman Doug Emhoff has been selected to lead the presidential delegation to the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics. During his visit, he will have the opportunity to meet with Team USA athletes, as confirmed by his communication director.
While in France, Emhoff is scheduled to engage with government officials and senior leaders at UNESCO, showcasing the importance of international relations and collaboration.
In addition to his diplomatic duties, Emhoff will host a roundtable discussion focused on promoting Holocaust education and combating antisemitism. This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts to raise awareness and prevent discrimination based on historical tragedies.
Furthermore, the second gentleman will deliver a poignant speech at the annual commemoration for the victims of the 1982 Rue des Rosiers attack. This tragic event, which took place at a Jewish restaurant in Paris, resulted in the loss of six lives and left 22 others injured.
