Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms, his office announced Sunday. However, his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, has tested negative and remains asymptomatic.
An official statement from Emhoff's spokesperson revealed that he is fully vaccinated and has received three booster shots. Despite testing positive, Emhoff is currently asymptomatic, working remotely, and isolating at home.
Harris underwent a COVID test on Saturday as a precautionary measure, and the result came back negative. She is set to campaign in Las Vegas for President Joe Biden's reelection on Tuesday.
This is not the first time that Emhoff and Harris have been affected by COVID-19. Emhoff previously tested positive in March 2022, while Harris tested positive the following month.
President Biden also had his share of COVID-19 encounters, testing positive in July 2022. Furthermore, he experienced a rare case of 'rebound' infection, testing positive again shortly after being cleared from isolation following treatment with an anti-viral drug.
