SEC standings after upset-filled Week 13

The Texas Longhorns prevailed 31-14 over Kentucky to remain atop the SEC standings after a chaotic Week 13. If the Longhorns beat Texas A&M next week, then Texas will play in the SEC championship.

Florida upset No. 9 Ole Miss 24-17 at home to become bowl eligible and spoil Ole Miss’ College Football Playoff hopes. Florida’s win is Tennessee’s gain. Tennessee is now expected to be in the playoff bracket after Ole Miss’ loss.

Auburn stunned Texas A&M at home with a 43-41 victory in quadruple overtime. Oklahoma’s defense dominated Alabama en route to a 24-3 victory. Winning on the road in the SEC is extremely hard and it cost three SEC teams a realistic chance at an at-large bid in the playoff.

The Georgia Bulldogs defeated UMass 59-21. Georgia had a great offensive showing, but struggled at times defensively against an inferior opponent.

Brady Cook, Luther Burden and Missouri won 39-20 over Mississippi State.

South Carolina took care of business and won 56-12 against Wofford. Tennessee beat UTEP 56-0. Arkansas picked up a 35-14 win over Louisiana Tech to become bowl eligible. A disappointing four SEC teams played non-Power Four opponents in Week 13.
