Seattle Woman's 'Horror Movie' Behaviour Caught on Video as Chinatown-ID Battles Open-Air Drug Crisis

Seattle Chinatown Video Fuels Debate Over Emergency Support and Public Safety (Credit: Screenshot/ choeshow/Youtube)

A video of a woman in apparent distress on a Seattle pavement attracted more than two million views in less than 48 hours, according to a British news report published on 5 October. Filmed in the Chinatown-International District, the footage has added to debate over public drug use, emergency intervention and neighbourhood safety.

Journalist Jonathan Choe, who filmed the scene, described it as 'like a scene out of a horror movie' and said witnesses believed the woman had taken fentanyl and other substances. Their account does not establish what caused her distress.
