A MASKED man threatened a staff member and made off with cash during a robbery in Cumbernauld.
At around 8.25pm on Wednesday, December 18, a man wearing a black face covering entered a premises on Main Road in Condorrat and forced the staff member to open the cash register.
He then made off on foot with a sum of money and headed towards Condorrat Ring Road.
No one was injured during the incident but it was an "incredibly frightening experience" for the employee.
Police attended and a search of the area was carried out.
An investigation remains ongoing to try to identify and trace the suspect and police are appealing for information.
Detective Constable Scott Archer, of Coatbridge CID said: "Fortunately no-one was injured as a result of this incident, but it was an incredibly frightening experience for the staff member involved.
"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we urge anyone who may have seen a man matching this description or noticed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
"I would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dashcam to review their footage and share anything that may assist our investigation.

The man is described as white with a heavy build and spoke with a Scottish accent. He was wearing a black jacket, with a green or grey hoodie underneath, with the hood up.
He also wore a black face covering, blue surgical gloves, black trousers and white trainers.
