A search for a 49-year-old fisherman missing off Sydney's North Harbour is continuing. (AAP)

A search and rescue operation will resume for a fisherman missing since the early hours of Saturday morning after he was thrown from a boat along with another man and a dog off Sydney's North Harbour.

The men, a 25-year-old and 49-year-old, launched the 3.5-metre runabout from Tunks Park boat ramp at Northbridge about 9pm on Friday, before running into rough seas and capsizing around 3am.
