A dog trained to search for illicit stashes of cash, has followed his nose to the site of a huge haul of illegal drugs hidden in parcels in Dublin.
Ireland Revenue officers discovered a total of 7kgs of herbal cannabis with the help of detector dog Waffle on Thursday. The drugs, which had an estimated value of £120,000 were found concealed in seven different parcels.
The packages uncovered by the dog, had originated in Spain and were destined for an address in Dublin city centre but have been stopped in their tracks thanks to the nose of the Springer Spaniel, ensuring no further onward journey of the drugs.
