EMERGENCY services are continuing to search for an elderly man who is feared to have been swept away during floods in Perthshire.
Police received reports at 5pm on Sunday that a 77-year-man had got into trouble in the River Tay near the village of Strathtay.
According to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, two appliances and two boats were involved in the search for more than three hours on Sunday night.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “"Around 17:30 on Sunday, we received a report of concern for a 77-year-old man in the water at the River Tay, near Strathtay.
"Emergency services are in attendance."
The search resumed on Monday morning.
It comes after the Met Office issued yellow weather warnings for much of Scotland over the weekend amid incredibly heavy rainfall.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is urging people to remain vigilant and stay safe as dozens of local flood warnings remain in place.
SEPA’s flood duty manager, Janine Hensman, said: “Across the weekend, Scotland faced down a serious and significant severe weather event.
"We saw widespread travel disruption to road and rail networks and impacts in communities throughout the country.
"Whilst today sees an improving picture, we're warning communities to keep mindful across Monday as flood water impacts remain.
"We've still got extremely high flows on the larger rivers, particular the rivers Spey and Tay, and many places where flooding still remains, particularly near rivers and where surface water has collected on roads.
"It's really important people understand the danger."
