Leon Edwards validated his welterweight title reign in the UFC 286 main event when he defeated Kamaru Usman to close out their trilogy.
Edwards (21-3 MMA, 13-2 UFC) earned a majority decision win over Usman (20-3 MMA, 15-2 UFC) in Saturday’s rubber match at The O2 in London, and now he can move on to new business at 170 pounds.
It appears Edwards’ next fight is already in the works. UFC president Dana White was adamant post-fight that Colby Covington is in line for the next shot.
Does it make sense, though? Or should the promotion go in a different direction?
