This isn’t great.
Neither is, uh, anything going on with the Denver Broncos right now, between Russell Wilson continuing to struggle, the offense looking all over the place and the defense giving up points left and right.
But at least Sean Payton admitted after his team lost 19-8 on Thursday night in Week 6 to the Kansas City Chiefs that it was his fault. The head coach called a timeout before the Broncos punted at halftime, noting after the game that he thought it was third down, not fourth down.
“That’s a boneheaded mistake by me,” he said. “They were calling one as well and I’m off by a down, but that was stupid.”

Sean Payton said the timeout after taking the sack late in the first half was "just a boneheaded mistake by me."
KC still was going to take a timeout, but Payton said he was off by a down and called timeout not realizing it was fourth down instead of third down.
