Sean McVay turns off TV, plans to return to Rams

The NFL announcer carousel continues to whirl. One person who won’t be along for the ride in 2022 is Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay.

McVay led the Rams to the NFL championship by winning Super Bowl 56 over the Cincinnati Bengals. There was a murmur about him being a candidate for an analyst position on multiple networks.

He quieted the buzz Friday, telling ESPN’s Adam Schefter he plans to lead the Rams’ title defense.

The New York Post reported earlier in the day Amazon was willing to go as high as $100 million over five years in a meeting that was scheduled for next week. Amazon has rights to “Thursday Night Football” starting in 2022.

However, it appears as if McVay, who has said he does not want to be a coaching lifer, will be back on the sidelines for at least one more season.
