Matthew Stafford gave Los Angeles Rams fans a scare on Wednesday when he exited practice against the Dallas Cowboys early with a hamstring injury. It was merely a precaution after he felt some tightness, but any time the starting quarterback gets hurt, it’s concerning.
Fortunately, it’s a minor issue for Stafford that won’t keep him out long at all. Sean McVay told reporters on Thursday that although Stafford did miss the walkthrough today, he’s expected to return to practice next week.
That’s great news for the Rams, who aren’t going to play Stafford in the preseason anyway so they can afford to be cautious with their veteran quarterback.

While Stafford is sidelined, Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett will get more opportunities in practice.
